Multifaceted UV Technology at ICE Europe

Press release from the issuing company

UV specialist IST METZ to showcase broad product portfolio of UV, LED and excimer technology for converting applications

At ICE Europe, which will take place in Munich from March 14-16, 2023, UV equipment manufacturer IST METZ will present UV solutions for the most complex requirements of the converting industry in hall A5 at booth 1546.

With the BLK UV system, IST METZ will be showing a curing aggregate that combines the specific requirements of the market for curing technology with the latest technical developments in UV system engineering. The aggregate convinces with a significant increase in drying performance compared to conventional UV systems without increasing the UV lamp power. This means more productivity at reduced operating costs. The BLK LAMPcure is also available in a version with inerting, whose specially developed inert gas concept enables low gas consumption.

Also under inert gas atmosphere, the matting is performed by means of excimer technology. An excimer lamp refers to a source of ultraviolet light that has extremely high-energy emission at a wavelength of 172nm. The result of hardening with excimer lamps is extremely hard and matte surfaces that offer high scratch and abrasion resistance. The result of curing with excimer lamps is super-matt surfaces, which meet the highest demands through subsequent final curing with LED; UV or EB (Electron-beam).

New LEDcure – modular, compact, powerful
A clever modular basic concept combined with an extremely robust and compact design provide the user with maximum flexibility and versatility. The system is freely scalable in length and can be adapted to all machine formats and installation situations. This makes it possible to use one LEDcure unit at different positions on a machine. Thanks to XT8 booster technology, the LEDcure has up to 30% more power than other LED systems available on the market. Other highlights of the new LEDcure include the simple replacement of the optics and the possibility of upgrading the LED chips at a later date.

Curing control made easy
With the UV Analyzer, an app-based measuring device, users can independently check the curing quality of their UV units at any time. The app can be downloaded free of charge. The starter kit includes the UV Analyzer Stick with cap, charging cable, lanyard as well as measuring strips and is distributed by UV specialist and manufacturer IST METZ. IST LEDcure systems are available both as near-field systems (without optics) and with special optics for effective curing even of distant objects (up to approx. 100 mm).
