Konica Minolta Participates in Ride to End ALZ

Press release from the issuing company

Dealer and Employee Efforts Position Company at Top of Fundraising Leaderboard

Ramsey, NJ -- Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta) today announced its participation in the Alzheimer's Association Ride to End ALZ happening Sunday, August 28, which raises funds for the fight to end Alzheimer's disease. The charity bike ride allows participants to ride anywhere, any distance, indoor or outdoor with no registration fees and no minimum fundraising requirement.

With an overall goal of $100,000 that goes 100 percent to research to find a cure, Konica Minolta has been engaging its employees and dealers to raise awareness and funds. The company matched the first $15,000 in employee donations and at the time of publishing has already raised more than half of its goal through eleven nationwide teams, putting it at the top of the leaderboard.

Laura Blackmer, President Dealer Sales, is the event’s top fundraiser. Her “Full Throttle” team - as well as Konica Minolta overall – are ahead by a wide margin. Two Konica Minolta dealers, Blue Technologies and Edwards & Virginia Business Solutions, have formed their own teams, with other dealers such as DEX Imaging, Atlantic Tomorrow's Office and more making sizable donations.

“When I was approached by a colleague to get involved, I could not pass on the opportunity to bring my network together and raise money for this amazing cause,” said Blackmer. “Thank you to everyone who has donated; we have eclipsed all of my expectations.”

Blackmer shared her own story in a video, where she also stated, “Hearing the stories people are sharing reinforces the huge impact of this disease. There is not a person out there who hasn’t been touched by Alzheimer's.”

By participating in the Ride to End ALZ, Konica Minolta and its dealer partners are fueling support services and cutting-edge research to change the trajectory of Alzheimer's disease. Each dollar raised helps advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer's and provide help for those facing dementia today.

Konica Minolta thanks everyone who has contributed to the Alzheimer's Association Ride to End ALZ. Learn more about the event here, including how to donate, join a team to or start your own.
