Schaumburg, Ill. – INX International Ink Co., the market leader for metal decorating inks and color management technologies, is calling attention to an approaching deadline. All beverage brand owners and marketers, breweries, can makers, design agencies and others have until April 30 to submit entries for the second annual Colored by INX Can Design Contest.
To be eligible, entrants need to have used the INX Color Catalog to produce a single commercial can design from January 1 to December 31, 2020. Crown Brand Building Packaging won the inaugural event a year ago with an incredibly colorful design for INDIO Beer Pueblos de México Unido Edición Muertos. Entries for this year’s contest must be postmarked no later than April 30 to qualify, and public voting will determine the winner in May. Complete contest rules can be found here.
“We began the entry process in January and we’ve had a very good response so far,” said Renee Schouten, Director of Marketing for INX International Ink Co. “Since we introduced the contest over a year ago, more key decision makers continue to utilize the INX Color Catalog and understand its value as the only true color standard in the metal decorating industry. In part, I think the contest has generated more interest and awareness. Last year, half of the entries we received arrived in the final month so it will be interesting to see if history repeats itself.”
The contest will be judged by representatives of the INX Color Perfection® team. They will determine the top five finalists using criteria based on originality, overall design aesthetics, best use of the color palette, and the project statement indicating how color factored into the final design. Voting takes place on Facebook from May 10-17, with the winner to be announced on May 18.
