ISA Sign Expo 2019 Wraps Up in Vegas

Some “quick hits” from the Sign Expo show floor, including the winners of the ISA Innovation Awards, some new product announcements, and more.

Last week, the WhatTheyThink team was in Las Vegas, Nev., for the 75th ISA Sign Expo. In our preliminary report, we discussed the announcement that next year’s Sign Expo will colocate with Impressions Expo, formerly the Imprinted Sportswear Show. But these shows are about more than show news, and there were a number of new products launched and/or demonstrated last week.

New sign technologies are also making a splash, and a couple of examples of holography caught my eye—almost quite literally—as I was walking the floor, and even the registration area. N. Glantz & Son won an ISA Innovation Award in the Electronic & Traditional Sign Products category for its HYPERVSN Solo 3D Holographic Display System that allows images to look as if they are floating in mid-air­—which, they are, actually.

Vinyl signage is taking on new shapes, and these kinds of round or curved frames proliferated at this year’s show. In many cases, the vinyl graphic is zippered onto the frame.
