Production Inkjet: It’s Not Just About the Technology Anymore

Peter Kowalczuk was appointed President of Last February, Canon Solutions America hosted its annual Media & Analyst Event in Boca Raton, Fla. The event also included a customer panel featuring George Lawrence, President/CEO, LawrenceInk; Angela Hipelius, CEO, Liberty Creative Solutions; and Adam LeFebvre, President/COO, Specialty Print Communications, who talked about their respective experiences with production inkjet presses. “The speed at which the Océ ProStream runs is even better than advertised,” Mr. LeFebvre had commented. “It has really helped us boost our product offering, allowing us to serve more customers and focus more time on growing our business in new ways.” Today’s production inkjet vendors are tasked with not just offering top-of-the-line technology—that’s become expected—but playing a more consultative role in helping customers with business development.

Last year, Peter Kowalczuk was appointed President of Canon Solutions America, and his emphasis has been on not just bolstering the services part of the organization, but also integrating Canon Solutions America’s business units (Enterprise, Production Print, and Large Format) to be able to offer customers a holistic approach to business development and growing page volume. Printing Newsspoke with Kowalczuk and Francis McMahon, Executive Vice President, Production Print Solutions, about the company’s new emphasis, especially as it affects the company’s production inkjet portfolio.
