It’s 2009: Where Have the Good Case Studies Gone?

As we enter 2009, I must ask the question, “Where have all the good case studies gone?”

I sat down recently to write an article for a client newsletter and was looking for a good case study to analyze, but I had trouble finding anything of interest. As I clicked through and read the abstracts, it seemed as if I’d heard it all before.

After more than a decade of Web-to-print, POD/JIT, 1:1 printing, and personalized URL applications development, we are seeing a growing archive of success stories in every area. That’s the good news. Now the bad news. The bad news is that all of the case studies are starting to sound the same. Manufacturer uses Web-to-print to avoid obsolescence and improve delivery times. College uses personalized booklets to woo prospective students. Printer uses personalized URLs with gift incentive to encourage prospects to sign up for a seminar.
