In today's audio broadcast, you will hear how Specialty Print Communications (SPC) - print and direct mail specialists - implemented a wide range of initiatives to be became certified through the Green Business Alliance. SPC is now officially a “greenified” company.
Dustin LeFebvre, EVP of Strategic Initiatives, tells us how, with the guidance of the Alliance, SPC has continued to implement green operating procedures that benefit the environment and its clients, while also enhancing the planetʼs ecological health.
To give you a “sneak preview,” here are some of the questions we discussed:
Specialty Print Communications (SPC) has been certified by the Green Business Alliance, an organization that helps businesses understand what it means to be green and to implement environmentally responsible business practices. What has that meant to your company?
I understand that you’ve made major changes to your lighting system as part of this program. Would you tell us about those changes and the results?
The Green Business Alliance takes a holistic approach; it looks beyond something like Chain of Custody certification to how you do business. Chain of Custody certification is just one element, really just a first step; what is it you’re going to do next?
A question from a different perspective: You have the opportunity to work upstream by helping your customers print and mail more effectively and more environmentally sensitively. When you move upstream and help people manage their mailing lists and look at how effective their mailing is going to be, that prevents downstream waste. Are you involved in programs like that with your clients?
How has this exercise with the Green Business Alliance helped focus your thinking?
