1. I take umbrage. (I have noticed you use that word, It's a good word). Color Management is just that Managing the Color throughout the process. It is not about color control, it is about knowing all the issues involved in color and managing them. This includes managing the clients’ expectations and the tolerance windows that are reasonable for both producer and purchaser of the color. Understanding the defined 'Standard Observer' and the difference each individuals perception has of color. Addressing these issues so that the color that is received by various parties in the Graphic Communications food chain is satisfactory...or at least not dissatisfactory.

It means a deep understanding of technically how that color is digitally captured be it camera back or synthetic and ALL the rendering possibilities from that data. Managing that data with the tools we have today, be it two dimensional curves, three dimensional profile, device links, PCS or others.
