Kodak and Digital Printing: The Last Word

I received an email from a printer who was considering a digital printer -- NexPress by name. They said that a sales person from a competitor said that Kodak was going to sell the division.

I said it was news to me because all the suppliers check with me before they make any major decisions. That was a joke.

The rumor got started because of an article in the Wall Street Journal on February 5th based on a Kodak institutional Investor meeting on February 4th. At the meeting, Antonio Perez, Chairman and CEO, was very open about Kodak’s business. He stated that they were looking for strategic partners for some of their product lines. In one statement he mentioned an online division they would divest and the digital division for which they were seeking partners.
