HP Launches Its “Most Productive” Latex Unit Yet

At last week’s PRINTING United, HP officially launched the latest entry in its Latex line of wide-format printers: the HP Latex FS70 W.

Tuesday, October 28, 2025

Although announced a week earlier, last week’s PRINTING United saw the official launch of the HP’s latest entry in its Latex line of wide-format printers, the HP Latex FS70 W—“The most important announcement since the launch of the Latex line,” said Daniel Martinez, Global Head and General Manager of HP Large Format Business, in an unveiling ceremony Wednesday morning just after the show opened. Indeed, the new unit is being hailed as “the most productive Latex to date,” offering speeds up to 117 sq. m/hr. (1,259 sq. ft./hr.) outdoors and 91 sq. m/hr. (980 sq. ft./hr.) indoors, and a maximum speed of up to 162 sq. m/hr. (1,744 sq. ft./hr.)—as always, though, your milage may vary. The new device succeeds the HP Latex 3X00 series. In a nutshell, the Latex FS70 W is built for high-volume production.

(If you’re curious what “indoor” and “outdoor” mean, a helpful footnote in the press release clarifies: “Outdoor mode (3-pass, 6 color, 90% ink density) on Kavalan Sunlight Weldable PVC Free Banner. Indoor mode (4-pass, 6 color, 110% ink density) on Avery Dennison 3001 and Mactac 8500. Based on internal HP testing, June 2025.” QED.)

It’s been a busy year in Latex land, with last spring seeing the launches of the HP Latex R530, the HP Latex 730, and the HP Latex 830 Printers.
