Highlights from the Online Print Symposium 2024

The latest Online Print Symposium (OPS), in its 11th edition, took place mid-March at its established location in Münich. Despite stemming from more regional, German-based origins, the Online Print Symposium became the leading event for online print globally. To attract a wider audience, the organizers increased the number of English-language presentations and offered translation services throughout.

The 2024 conference featured 18 presentations, including seven from start-up companies. While all presentations offered a lot of insight, a few presentations should be highlighted.

The keynote on day one by Henrik Müller Hansen, CEO of Gelato offered a great start. The company was founded to take a fresh approach to print services. Gelato is a software company that believes in a light asset model (hardware owned by partners) and focuses on connectivity and user experience. Products offered started out with simple cards but now all kind of print, merchandise and even 3D “print” is offered. Today, Gelato has 18 offices around the globe. Print production takes place in 32 countries at 140 production hubs, a number that keeps on growing.
