FESPA has come a long way from its origins as a screen printing show. Screen printing can be found here and there but the vast majority of exhibits today is scanning head inkjet technology for all areas screen printing served before, such as: poster, display, textile garment and large board printing.

Held once a year in different locations in Europe, FESPA offers a great opportunity to launch new products or present them to a wider audience. As WhatTheyThink managing editor Richard Romano described the wide format industry as “graying,” there are few surprise exhibits to be found nowadays. Yet the lively launch activity still proves that there is room for advances and diversification, however.

The most obvious trend at FESPA 2023 was the advent of large robotics. Although robots, or more precisely robot arms, are not new to the industry, they are a lot more prominent now.
