It’s All About the Experience: This Year’s Digital Signage Experience Awards Finalists Transform Public Spaces

Tomorrow, the winners of the Digital Signage Experience Awards—or “DIZZIES”—will be announced, honoring the cutting edge in electronic signs and immersive multimedia experiences. Our friends at SNA Displays had their LED display technologies used by four nominees in the running. We take a look at these digital signage installations.

Tomorrow, November 18, the winners of the Digital Signage Experience Awards—or “DIZZIES”—will be announced, honoring the cutting edge in electronic signs and immersive multimedia experiences. Our friends at SNA Displays had their LED display technologies used by four nominees in the running: AT&T’s global headquarters in Dallas; Gensler Austin’s lobby video wall; Grandscape, a destination shopping center in North Dallas; and HBO Max’s Orbit Retail Experience.

AT&T’s “Discovery District” is a downtown Dallas “destination” where “tech, culture, and entertainment combine to create unique experiences.” Gensler, a global architecture, design, and planning firm, worked with AT&T to create a mixed-use facility set against the backdrop of AT&T’s global headquarters. Early on, it was decided that a major component of the center would be LED signage. “In a small way, we assisted with the design for all three LED video phases of The District, including the lobby’s LED video wall and column wraps, the huge outdoor Media Wall, and the Experience Store,” said Mitch Leathers, senior director of communications for SNA Displays, who noted that Gensler drove the design for the project. “We also provided consultation with the pixel density of the video assets, the layout and curvature of the Media Wall façade wrap, permitting with the City of Dallas, and various other aspects of the project. Overall, this was an amazing team effort led by Gensler and The Beck Group, who provided general contractor services.”
