HP Indigo VIP events are not only a showcase for HP Indigo technologies, they always provide a great outlook on what’s to come as well as a look behind the scenes. The latest event took place May 24 and 25 in Israel. The annual event resumed after a three-year break due to the pandemic. The 2020 event had to be cancelled at the last minute—after it had been prepared as a pre-drupa showcase. Without a drupa to follow, the 2022 VIP event promised fewer spectacular launches, but an excellent overview on the technologies available—including some new developments. 450 attendees from around the world joined the event to learn more.

The opening evening already presented a surprise, being the first large public event for the new General Manager of HP Indigo, Noam Zilbershtain. He assumed the position in April 2022, less than two years after Haim Levit took over from longterm General Manager Alon Bar-Shany. Noam previously served for nearly two years as the head of HP Indigo’s operations, leading the global HW and supplies businesses’ operations (manufacturing and engineering) and the sourcing, supply chain, planning, and quality functional teams. Noam joined HP following 20 years at General Electric Healthcare where he held the position of General Manager, Global Imaging Subsystems Detectors and Site Leader in GE Healthcare. He holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Marketing and Information Systems. This makes Noam the first HP Indigo general manager to lack a long career path at Indigo.
