Textile production has been transformed in the last 10 years by the introduction of industrial digital printing based on inkjet technology. While there were early forays into digital printing in the 1970s with the Millken Millitron digital carpet printer, the first commercial inkjet textile printers were introduced in the 1990s with early examples like the Stork Trucolor Jet Printer (1991) and the Ichinose Image Proofer (1999).
