Webinar Archive: Keeping Print in the Customer Communications Mix

Press release from the issuing company

In free WhatTheyThink webinar, sponsored by Quadient, attendees learned how the role of print is changing in customer communications

WhatTheyThink reported that more than 300 industry professionals registered to attend a free printing industry educational webinar, Keeping Print in the Mix in Customer Communications, sponsored by Quadient (formerly GMC Software). The session was moderated by WhatTheyThink Senior Editor Cary Sherburne and featured three panelists who provided insight into the best ways to integrate print into a customer communications program for optimum results.

The webinar archive is available by visiting WhatTheyThink.com and selecting the Webinars tab.

“Our speakers each have different market positions,” said Sherburne. “But they all agreed that marketers are realizing that print has a valuable role in the customer communications mix that cannot be underestimated. As a result, the role of print in an omni-channel world is being redefined yet again, with print as a key element. In many cases, the printed piece is the first touch that drives recipients to online resources for further action. By using highly personalized and relevant mail pieces targeted to specific audiences, while the total number of pieces produced for a campaign is typically smaller, response rates are improved, and marketers benefit from a much better ROI.”

Sherburne was joined by:

  • Dave Schuller, Director, IT Production Support, Venture Solutions. A Taylor company, Venture Solutions specializes in transactional communications and focuses specifically on sensitive, mission-critical customer messages such as documents involving Personally Identifiable Information – PII – or Protected Health Information – PHI.
  • Doug Dula, Director of Technology, Salem-One, a company that has evolved into one of the largest and fastest growing Packaging, Print, Direct Marketing and Logistics companies in the Southeast. Salem-One produces award-winning work and improves business results for leading regional and national corporations and brands.
  • Tom Harkins, Vice President of Application Support, Billtrust. During his 4 years at Billtrust, he has introduced process and technology solutions to deliver client implementations in a shorter timeframe and with higher quality. Billtrust simplifies and automates billing, receiving payments and clearing transactions.

“We were pleased to be partnering with Quadient to make this important webinar available to our audience,” said Eric Vessels, President, WhatTheyThink. “Printed communications, including direct mail, are growing in value in the customer communications supply chain. Even Millennials love to get their mail! We appreciate the generosity of Quadient in sponsoring this important industry event, making it available to our viewers at no charge.”
