About the 2026 NAPIM Summer Course
The 2026 NAPIM Summer Course takes place July 27–31, 2026 at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina — five intensive days of expert instruction, hands-on lab work, and peer networking in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Whether you're new to the printing ink industry or a seasoned professional looking to go deeper, this program is designed to meet you where you are. Over the course of the week, you'll cover the full spectrum of printing ink science and technology — from print processes and pigments through rheology, flexo, gravure, digital inks, substrates, and troubleshooting — all led by practitioners from some of the most respected organizations in the industry.
Sessions are taught by experts from Sun Chemical, Flint Group, BASF, INX International, Siegwerk, Brandt Technologies, Kustom Group, Summit Analytical, Harper Corporation, Impact Imaging, Wikoff Color Corporation, and Appalachian State University.
What's on the Agenda
The week covers more than 30 sessions across five full days, including classroom instruction, concurrent hands-on lab rotations, and live press demonstrations. Topics include print processes and workflow, pigments and colorants, ink formulation, drying mechanisms, rheology and dispersion, flexo and gravure, digital ink formulation, substrates, and troubleshooting.
