Issue 4 available now!
Early this year. WhatTheyThink, the graphic communication industry’s leading news and information resource, launched the WhatTheyThink Quarterly Journal, a new online publication designed to provide in-depth commentary and analysis on printing industry trends. Every quarter, the Quarterly takes a deep dive into the various aspects of a single topic, as well as offer ongoing coverage of hot-button issues impacting the industry. The Quarterly Journal is a standalone publication on the WhatTheyThink platform, with content written specifically for the Journal. Contributors to the Quarterly Journal include expert contributors from both inside and outside the industry as well as WhatTheyThink’s regular stable of writers and analysts.
Issue 4—online now—is called “The Leadership Issue,” and takes a deep dive into leadership—and leadership-adjacent topics—from a variety of perspectives. A few of the long-form articles in Issue 4 include:
- Industry consultant Debbie Nicholson asks, “Do You Really Know Your Company?” and explains how—and why—you should closely examine how your employees and your clients perceive your business.
- Leadership expert Wayne Lynn offers some tips and suggestions for finding not just employees, but the right employees, and how to retain them.
- Regular WhatTheyThink contributor Elizabeth Gooding discusses change management and the need to adopt new technologies and processes to address market pressures.
- WhatTheyThink contributors Pat McGrew and Ryan McAbee say that “leaders are lifelong learners”—indeed, the print industry’s future belongs to companies that learn faster than the market changes.
- As part of our ongoing effort to help find tomorrow’s industry leaders, we invited recent Cal Poly graduate Kendra Roberson to write about her journey through academia and into the industry. We also reprise our talk with our “Student of the Month,” Anna Frias, a third-year student in Cal Poly’s Graphic Communication program.
- Mary Schilling continues her “Cool Tools” series with a round up of tools and technologies that pressroom leaders need to have in their arsenals.
- And much more.
