Printing Leadership Made Easy: Interview with Joan Davidson of the Sheridan Group

A recent keynote by Joan Davidson at EFI Connect sheds some light on how a successful leader is accomplishing these objectives.

Sheridan Publications Group President Joan Davidson Shares Hints, Tips and Recommendations

I had the pleasure of interviewing Joan Davidson, Group President, Sheridan Publications, part of the Sheridan Group, this week at Connect.  She is a highly energetic, bright and thoughtful leader as well as a genuinely delightful person.   She is one of the top ranking female leaders in our industry, and was also Tuesday’s keynote speaker at Connect.  Her keynote contained a number of down-to-earth suggestions about how to run a successful printing business, and she has graciously given us permission to repeat some of them here.  I hope my notetaking lived up to the task!  The Sheridan Group has been recognized numerous times as one of the best places to work in the printing industry.

Joan focused her comments around Evolution, Innovation, Flexibility, and Automation, saying, “Go ahead, make that change!”  Coincidentally (or not), the acronym for the first three terms is EFI, and she pointed out that Automation is a key topic at Connect, as it should be in the entire industry.
