Since its first production shipment last year, the Agfa Xcalibur VLF has become the most sought-after VLF system in the world. Park Printing, of Minneapolis, MN, has become the one-hundredth installation of the Xcalibur VLF worldwide. A celebration to mark the event was held on Monday, April 8th. Park Printing produces commercial print on presses from 25" to 63" and Point of Purchase for retail chains on a national basis. Park Printing considered Creo but went with Agfa’s Xcalibur VLF solution in order to provide the best quality, service and cost savings for its customers. "We are very excited to be partners with Agfa. We know there are other VLF systems out there, but only Agfa has been able to get it right," said Bud Koloski, CEO, Park Printing. "Agfa took the time to put together an entire package that was right for us and our operation here and made sense for what we do. The Xcalibur VLF system is precisely what we needed," Koloski added. Since the first system installation, Agfa Xcalibur has become an industry favorite for commercial printers and packaging converters around the world. With one hundred installations in more than 18 countries – and an impressive 40% market share worldwide – Agfa Xcalibur has a steadily growing presence around the globe. "The rapid adoption rate of the Agfa Xcalibur proves printers have embraced this long awaited alternative VLF platesetter," said Frances Cicogna, Agfa's Marketing Manager, CTP Systems. "We attribute this fast ramp-up to our distinct advantages in plate handling and laser system modularity, which make Xcalibur a more productive, efficient computer-to-plate solution."
