The Forest Stewardship Council Honors Neenah with 2019 FSC Leadership Award

Press release from the issuing company

Alpharetta, Ga. – The FSC has presented Neenah, Inc. with the prestigious FSC Leadership Award for being one of the first premium paper companies to offer FSC® Certified papers, and for being the first mill, worldwide, to watermark the FSC symbol and Chain of Custody into its papers.

Presented Wednesday night, November 20th, in a celebration held in conjunction with Greenbuild 2019, the Awards recognize enduring commitment to forest conservation and highlight uncommon excellence that advances responsible forest management. Corey Brinkema, president of the Forest Stewardship Council U.S. said in a press release, “This year’s FSC Leadership Award winners demonstrate that we can conserve forests, fight climate change and protect wildlife habitat, even as we use forest products every day.”

Kristen Duncan, Sustainability Manager, who received the award for Neenah said, “Neenah understands the importance of being an environmental steward and places prime importance on continually designing premium FSC Certified products to help local and global brands achieve corporate sustainability goals. It is an honor to be recognized for these sustainably-minded practices by the Forest Stewardship Council, and to be a recipient of this year’s FSC Leadership Awards.”

Neenah has been leading the premium paper industry in the adoption, creation, and distribution of FSC Certified papers for the past 15 years, offering a comprehensive portfolio across its premium paper and packaging products. “Today’s consumers are concerned about the environmental impact of their purchases. It is reported that 87% of consumers have a more positive image of a company that supports social or environmental issues. It is Neenah’s mission to support its customers in their efforts towards more sustainable choices while continuing to focus on reducing our own environmental footprint,” said Duncan.
