Best Color and Gretag Macbeth Announce Color Partnership
Press release from the issuing company
Krefeld, April 8, 2002 -- Best GmbH, provider of solutions for the printing and publishing market, has signed an Agreement with Gretag Macbeth, manufacturer of professional measuring devices for the graphics industry, to establish a standard for the communication of color. Best will market a measuring device licensed by GretagMacbeth under the name "best.eye". "best.eye" will be bundled with the software solution "Best Remoteproof", which makes it possible to create color-accurate proofs without engaging the services of a courier.
The bundling package: Best Remoteproof and best.eye
The software solution Best Remoteproof
Best Remoteproof makes it possible to dispatch proof results without having to engage the services of a courier. At the same time, Best Remoteproof ensures that both sender and recipient have exactly the same color information to work from. This saves both time and money, and is particularly useful when approval is required from not just two but from various different locations, e.g. from editorial departments of publishing houses who may be many miles apart. In addition, the user benefits from having a fully compatible solution, that meets the Industry Standard (CIP4, PDF/X-3, etc.), in a single package.
The spectrophotometer "best.eye"
best.eye is a measuring device which enables you to take spectral measurements. Based on GretagMacbeth's "Eye One" device, best.eye has been modified and optimized for remote proofing.
