Roll Systems and BDA Tecnologia Announce New Joint Venture

Press release from the issuing company

Burlington, MA (April 4, 2002) -- Roll Systems, the world's largest manufacturer of paper handling systems for digital presses, and BDA Tecnologia, a Brazilian distributor for CP Bourg and Matthias Bauerle (MB), have announced a new joint venture. The new company, BDAgraf Tecnologia Grafica Ltda, will supply the Brazilian offset and digital press sectors with feeding and finishing equipment. Its aim is to provide solutions that will enable the greater integration of new digital technology in the Brazilian graphic arts market. Based in Sao Paulo, BDAgraf Tecnologia Grafica Ltda will now offer a portfolio of finishing products to the Brazilian market supplied by Roll Systems, as well as CP Bourg and MB. "Roll Systems has always focused on supplying to the traditional local markets in Latin America", says George McKenna, president of Roll Systems. "This new joint venture will enable us to guide and support companies which are looking to move from the traditional offset to digital technology. BDAgraf is ready to support the industry with a range of solutions to modernize and automate any printing process." "BDA Tecnologia Ltda was a distributor for CP Bourg and AB Dick providing equipment for finishing and computer to plate for small presses," says Ney Deluiz, director and co-founder. "Roll Systems was therefore a natural choice as a new joint venture partner to bring digital solutions to the Brazilian graphic arts market. BDAgraf can now offer the market integrated solutions to combine digital and traditional operations, offering companies the opportunity to lower costs and increase efficiency." BDAgraf has two company directors, Michael Birner and Ney Deluiz. Mr Birner has 25 years experience in the traditional offset market in Brazil, with a number of years as sales director of a major player in that marketplace. Mr Deluiz has 24 years experience in information systems, for which 12 of these were dedicated to digital printing at Xerox, managing the areas of sales, marketing and strategic planning for graphic arts. Roll Systems is the world's largest manufacturer of automated paper handling, monitoring, converting, and finishing equipment for high-speed electronic and digital printing. Its products are sold and serviced in over 50 countries.
