Garron Helman Named New Managing Director of Creo Asia
Press release from the issuing company
VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA -- April 1, 2002 -- Creo Inc. announces the appointment of Garron Helman as managing director of Creo Asia Pacific Limited, effective today. In his previous position as managing director of Australia and New Zealand, Mr. Helman established Creo's presence in that market and gained 90% share of the very large format computer-to-plate (CTP) market over three years. With the acquisition of the assets of Media Tech in Australia and by establishing direct distribution in New Zealand, Creo has become the leading prepress supplier in the Australia-New Zealand region.
Mr. Helman brings rich experience and sales and marketing expertise to his new position. He joined Creo in June 1994 as marketing manager and holds Bachelor degrees in Arts and Engineering Science, and an MBA from the University of British Columbia.
"In his new role, Garron will lead the Asia Pacific team in the continuous growth and development of the region," said Mark Dance, chief operating officer of Creo. "Our innovative solutions are enhancing the success of printers throughout Asia Pacific."
Mr. Helman succeeds Eyal Yechezkel who led as managing director of Creo and CreoScitex Asia Pacific since May 2000. Under Mr. Yechezkel's leadership, Creo strengthened direct operation in the region, increased revenue, and built a solid operation in China. Creo has achieved market leadership with many key products and established offices in Korea, Singapore and southern China.
After four years in Europe and five years in Asia, Eyal will return to Israel with his family to pursue new opportunities. Thanking Eyal for his contribution in Asia over the last five years, Mr. Dance said, "Eyal has built a solid foundation for the region that bodes well for the future growth of Creo in Asia."
"I feel privileged to lead Creo in the dynamic Asian market," said Mr. Helman. "I am eager to pursue our vision of digitizing the graphic arts industry in this region. We have the people, products and vision to deliver unique value, simplify complex problems and help businesses thrive. In Creo Asia Pacific, our investment in Customer Support and Solutions will ensure we increase our customers' productivity and forge an effective partnership with them."
