Third Annual W+D Direct Mail Days Set for June 5-6, 2019

Neuwied, Germany – Direct mail is very much alive in the marketing world and W+D is set to break attendance records again this year with its third annual Direct Mail Days event. Worldwide visitors to the event will see latest technology and trends in direct mail production, printing technology as well as creative and practical applications at Direct Mail Days 2019 at Winkler+Dünnebier GmbH headquarters and main production facility in Neuwied, Germany. Live demonstrations of the latest features of W+D's envelope, digital printing, and inserting systems as well as practical and creative marketing applications for direct mail on these systems will be featured over the two-day event.

W+D is premiering the new W+D 628 web envelope machine which now replaces the very successful W+D 627 which has over 300 systems in operation worldwide. The new W+D 628 incorporates some of the best features of the recently introduced W+D 410 Easy Enveloper which has been a game changer in the short run blank fed flexo and litho direct mail envelope converting market. The W+D 628 includes technology enhancements of the W+D 410 that reduces change-over times and production waste on medium and long-run web jobs. The W+D 201 servo web flexo printing press new inline LED UV printing and coating enhancements will be demonstrated to show how flexo can more efficiently compete against the high quality litho market with a faster time-to-market with less production touches and lower production costs. The W+D BB700 S2 envelope inserting system will be demonstrated with an intelligent direct mail application that features a larger, easier-to-use HMI and faster input channel. The fastest envelope inkjet overprint press in the world, the W+D Halm i-Jet 2, will be running live each day showing printers how this machine will compete quite effectively against offset in the short to mid length envelope printing markets.

Presenters include Thomas Poremba, managing director of Impuls Advertising Agency in Hanover, Germany; Scott Evans, president of Kenmore Envelope Richmond, VA; Pat Keogh, Vice President of UV / IR, AMS Spectral UV in the United Kingdom; Florian Süßl, professor from Beuth University, Mike Theisen, Managing Director of Neuefeind GmbH, Germany and Richard Kluthe, Marketing Manager of W+D in Germany.

Some of the sessions among others include: “Direct mail in the marketing mix,” “Leading the way in creative high-end direct mail,” and “Advantages and economics of LED UV for high-speed, high-quality envelope printing.” The presenters will cover practical applications such as UV LEDs, implementing and meeting printing standards, reducing setup times in flexo printing and innovations in digital printing.

Many of W+D's international supplier partners will be on hand to exhibit and present their latest trends and products to support the direct mail manufacturing process.
