Deluxe Corp. Standardizes on Informatica Data Integration Platform

Press release from the issuing company

World's Largest Check Printer Anticipates Savings of $6 Million Due to Rapid Time-to-Deployment, Decreased Data Maintenance REDWOOD CITY, Calif., July 8 -- Informatica Corporation, the leading provider of business analytics software, today announced that Deluxe Corporation, the world's largest check printer, has standardized on the Informatica PowerCenter data integration platform to drive operational and analytic capabilities that can improve customer service, drive online ordering and enhance performance reporting to financial institutions on their check programs. Deluxe selected the market-leading Informatica PowerCenter platform to automate the process of consolidating product-order and customer information from more than 50 databases and multiple heterogeneous legacy files across the company's 18 facilities. Deluxe fulfills more than 100 million check orders each year through its three business units: Deluxe Business Services, Deluxe Financial Services and Direct Checks. Internet orders are a critical element of the company's aggressive e-commerce strategy, especially for the Deluxe Financial Services unit, which draws more than 80 percent of its orders through electronic connections with more than 10,000 financial institutions and the Internet. The company previously used manual procedures and custom-extract programs to consolidate and analyze this data, but will now use Informatica PowerCenter to streamline and accelerate the process -- eliminating the need for time- consuming hand coding. Through automated replication processes and streamlined workflow, Deluxe anticipates a $6 million annual reduction in data-maintenance costs. "Deluxe's goal is to deliver information into the hands of business users for operational and analytic purposes as quickly as possible. We chose Informatica to get ourselves out of the custom-extract business, essentially to work faster and less expensively," said Andy Field, senior director of privacy and information management at Deluxe. "We expect to achieve very rapid time-to-deployment with Informatica, and anticipate that the resulting increase in our operational and analytic capabilities will ultimately drive increased value and savings for Deluxe." "The pace at which Deluxe is expanding its customer base and Internet orders demands an automated data integration approach that can provide timely delivery of strategic information to business users," said Diaz Nesamoney, president and COO of Informatica. "We are pleased that Deluxe has chosen the Informatica data integration platform to help improve its agility and maintain market leadership."
