Quark Promotes John Friske to President and Chief Operating Officer

Denver, Colo. – Quark Software Inc., the leader in sales enablement, content automation, and desktop publishing, announced today that John Friske, Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Services, has been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer. In his new role, Friske is responsible for the continued delivery of world-class products, service and support to Quark’s global network of customers.

In his tenure at Quark Friske has played a critical role in sales and customer engagement as well as product direction and development. Friske joined the company as part of Quark’s acquisition of In.vision Research Corporation in 2008. In.vision pioneered XML authoring solutions for non-technical authors, and the company’s flagship product is the foundation of Quark XML Author for Microsoft Word.

Prior to his role as President and COO for Quark, John Friske served as SVP Global Sales and Services, Vice President, Global Professional Services and General Manager, XML Products. Before joining Quark, Friske spent two decades establishing high technology firms specializing in the development and deployment of enterprise software solutions. As President and CEO of in/sync Data Products and In.vision Research Corporation, Friske built and grew both organizations through successful sales growth, customer satisfaction, and venture capital, ultimately leading to the successful acquisitions of both organizations. Friske studied philosophy at California State University, Fullerton.
