Bestcolor USA Introduces Best Ink Key Assistant

Press release from the issuing company

- New Software Tool Guides Ink Key Settings on Presses With Manual Ink Zone Control - West Chester, OH, July 2002-- Bestcolor USA, the operating subsidiary of Best GmbH with responsibilities for the United States and Canada, has introduced Best Ink Key Assistant. First shown at IFRA 2001, Best Ink Key Assistant enables the operators of printing presses using manual ink zone control to make precise settings on the press. This saves materials and time, and avoids waste, thus reducing operating costs in the pressroom. Best Ink Key Assistant is now being shipped as a standard element in the popular Best Screenproof product, and will be available as an option in Best Colorproof. In announcing the product introduction, Bestcolor USA president Mark Geeves commented: "Today, the large number of presses in use with manual ink zone controls require thorough knowledge and extensive experience on the part of the operator. Best Ink Key Assistant produces a control strip which provides the printing press operator with the values required to set the ink zone controls. Values are based on the area coverage for each color in each of the ink zones and are calculated automatically during color proof production. In this way, the press operator receives both proof and control strip in one step and on a single printout.” Bestcolor USA is the North American subsidiary of Best GmbH, the premier manufacturer of inkjet proofing systems for graphic arts, design, photographic, and textile industries. Best GmbH was founded in 1994 and has 110 employees worldwide; Bestcolor USA was founded in 1998. Best is widely known for providing the most sophisticated, yet cost-effective, output control software for the digital prepress industry. More than 35,000 Best products are currently in use at customer sites around the globe.
