VISOgraphic Grows Ricoh Relationship by Adding its Newest Affordable, High-Speed Sheet-Fed Press

Press release from the issuing company

After installing multiple platforms of its predecessor, VISOgraphic was quick to embrace the RICOH Pro C9210 Graphic Arts Edition

Chicago, Ill. (PRINT 18, Booth #3011) – Ricoh USA, Inc. today announced that VISOgraphic, an Illinois-based commercial and digital print provider, has further expanded its digital footprint and its relationship with Ricoh by adding a RICOH Pro C9210 Graphic Arts Edition sheet-fed color press. The C9210 offers VISOgraphic a competitive edge, with speeds up to 135 pages per minute (ppm) on stocks up to 49 inches long and 470 gsm or 24 point thickness. This latest addition builds on Ricoh and VISOgraphic’s close relationship, which included the installation of multiple platforms of the C9210’s predecessor technology, the RICOH Pro C9110, to expand VISOgraphic’s initial move into the digital print space. The C9210 builds on that device’s strengths, offering an affordable, predictable way for businesses like VISOgraphic to maximize revenue due to the press’s uptime and reliability. The C9210 will be on display at PRINT 18, September 30 to October 2, in the Ricoh booth, #3011.

VISOgraphic has been in business since 1946, providing quality graphic design and printing to Chicago area businesses, with a specific focus on direct mail projects. A full art studio has allowed them to provide personalized artwork and photography in addition to layout and design. The company prides itself on producing all of its jobs in-house, under a single roof: its 40,000-square-foot facility, which has an open-door policy for customers in order to encourage visibility.

“Ricoh understands our business in a deep, intuitive way that makes them an invaluable partner,” said Bob Dahlke Jr., Principal, VISOgraphic. “It’s clear that Ricoh develops its portfolio by focusing on how to solve our challenges – and challenges of businesses like ours. They understand that in today’s fast-paced, highly competitive world of print, reliability, uptime and versatility are hugely important. Like all we’ve seen from Ricoh, the C9210 delivers on all fronts.”

Printers looking to increase uptime, reliability and utilization will see immediate benefits from the C9210. The press empowers customers to expand their portfolio to include book jackets, six-page brochures and other unique applications that require media up to 470 gsm or 24 point. Additionally, the C9210 has the capacity to run the longest paper lengths in the market today: 49 inches simplex and 40 inches auto-duplex giving printers even more flexibility. This enables the production of more advanced applications and the ability to drive down the cost per piece. Additionally, the series supports a laser resolution of 2400 x 4800 dpi with a large color gamut, without sacrificing speed or versatility.

The C9210 also produces consistent, professional output due to its in-line sensors that automatically aid improved front-to-back registration and color calibration, without requiring advanced operator skills. Moreover, the larger 17-inch Smart Operation Panel brings new job- and workflow-management options directly to the device, on a single screen, including the ability to monitor and manage print jobs remotely through either an EFI Color Controller or the RICOH TotalFlow Server.

“VISOgraphic, like Ricoh, understands the value of a close working partnership, and that mentality has worked wonders for both of our organizations,” said John Fulena, Vice President, Commercial & Industrial Printing Business Group, Ricoh USA, Inc. “We understand that presses don’t solve challenges, people do. And together with customers like VISOgraphic, we’re solving those challenges and growing new business opportunities one application at a time. Our latest installation is a true testament of the successes we’ve seen from approach.”
