Canon Solutions America Expands Possibilities for Graphics Company, Group Imaging

Press release from the issuing company

Customer's Elaborate Children's Project Made Possible by the Océ Colorado 1640

Melville, N.Y. – Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc. today announced that display manufacturing and graphic printing company, Group Imaging, has acquired an Océ Colorado 1640 roll-to-roll printer, strengthening the company's leadership position as a first class graphics provider based in Mesa, Arizona. Group Imaging prides itself on offering unparalleled versatility to a unique customer base across the U.S. and Canada, and with this new acquisition they have taken their business to new heights. Click here for a special look into one of Group Imaging's inspiring projects helped made possible by the Océ Colorado 1640 printer.

To provide incredible print quality and to help customers deliver impactful messages is Group Imaging's primary objective. The company's investment in the missions of the organizations they support ultimately led to the purchase of the Océ Colorado 1640 printer. Immediately following the launch of the new UV print technology, Group Imaging was fascinated by the printer's capabilities and later convinced that the Océ Colorado 1640 printer would satisfy the company's passion for creative projects such as wallpaper printing, and for offering customers stunning custom products.

In business for over 20 years, Group Imaging owners Jeff and Charlotte Burris continue to drive their business forward by immersing themselves in the customer experience, which includes finding the latest state-of-the-art industry products so that customers are never compromising quality or reliability. With a deep sense of the customers' needs and having spent ten years as ministers in local churches, Jeff and Charlotte made the noble decision to focus their efforts on supporting charitable, educational, and good cause organizations through their print services. Today, many of Group Imaging's clients are churches, non-profit ministries, colleges, and mission organizations of just about any size and with any size budget.

Recently, Group Imaging provided its unique children's theming service to Sun Valley Community Church, which was looking for a major revamp to one of their buildings in order to create an engaging environment for children. The Océ Colorado 1640 printer exceeded both Group Imaging's and the Church's expectations, who were astonished by the results. According to Kyle Glenn, Campus Pastor at Sun Valley Community Church, the challenges that were faced at previous campuses in implementing this project were simply not present this time around by bringing in the Océ Colorado 1640 printer. "The Océ Colorado 1640 printer was able to meet all of our needs and provide that fun environment we were looking for with outstanding quality and color consistency. Not just any printer can do what this printer was able to do," said Glenn.

"We are passionate about the work we do and proud of what we have been able to accomplish for our customers with the Océ Colorado 1640," said Jeff Burris, CEO of Group Imaging. "Thanks to Canon's Océ Colorado 1640 we were able to help Sun Valley Community Church revitalize an impressively large children's space with dynamic wallpaper coverings at an affordable price. What's more, with the Colorado's impressively fast turnaround times we were able to meet all deadlines for the project without interruption."

"Prior to our acquisition of our Océ Colorado 1640," continued Burris, "we had to produce all of our wall graphics/wallcoverings on latex devices. The wall covering that we produced using these devices was inconsistent, and it did not match in quality, color accuracy nor geometric constancy from panel to panel. Because of this we had to do a lot of reprints which incurred additional costs: waste in media, ink, and labor, both on site and at the installation site."

"We then started to look around for a UV-curable printer to resolve this issue, and the best and most affordable solution was the Océ Colorado 1640 from Canon Solutions America. We have been extremely happy with our decision in moving in this direction, because now, with the Océ Colorado 1640, all of these prior issues like color, print quality, and the geometric consistency have gone away, not to mention the added bonus in productivity and the automation that this product brings to the table."

The speed throughput, low ink costs, and highly durable photo quality output delivered by the Océ Colorado 1640 equipped Group Imaging to compete with online graphics providers, as well as significantly increased profitability for the company. The Océ Colorado 1640 roll-to-roll printer is excellent for both indoor and outdoor display graphics applications, therefore it was simply a perfect fit for Group Imaging's requirements.

"We had an incredible feeling of satisfaction when we learned what Group Imaging had produced with our Océ Colorado 1640 printer," said Sal Sheikh, vice president, Marketing, Large Format Solutions, Canon Solutions America. "We are committed to persistent improvement and enhancement of our large format portfolio to help ensure our customers are well-equipped to go above and beyond for their customers as Group Imaging has done for Sun Valley Community Church. We could not be more proud and grateful we are able to share this project with all of our customers."
