ATLANTA -- Soft Solutions, Inc., a leading software developer of information management systems, today announced the purchase of the 4-Sight Fax(tm) product from WAM!NET, Inc. 4-Sight Fax is a leading Macintosh client/server software application that allows users to convert a Macintosh computer into a fax server. WAM!NET, through its product division, 4-Sight, will retain the rights to be an authorized sales distributor, selling current and future versions of the 4-Sight Fax product to its customer base worldwide. Soft Solutions has acquired the licensing and trademark rights to the leading Macintosh client/server software application. The software/server combination allows users on an attached network to send and receive faxes from their desktops, managing all the queuing, imaging, sending, and receipt notification of these faxes. 4-Sight Fax is also noted for its easy to implement broadcast capabilities. Soft Solutions has a history of building plug-ins that enhance the operation of 4-Sight Fax, and has also built separate applications that utilize its features. The acquisition of 4-Sight Fax ensures for Soft Solutions that the foundation of its faxing tools remains intact while providing the freedom to develop an enhanced feature set for the product. Soft Solutions will shortly release a fully Mac OS 9 compliant version of 4-Sight Fax, version 4.1. It will be available as a free upgrade to owners of the current version, 4.0.6. The company intends to devote ongoing product development towards an OS X and, ultimately, Web-based solution with I/P access and SMTP email sending capabilities. Soft Solutions also is working on development of a Windows client. These tools will allow customers to access their 4-Sight fax services from anywhere in the world.
