SCREEN Americas and OneVision Software Announce Label Printing Workflow Partnership

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, Ill. and Regensburg, Germany – With the collaboration between OneVision Software AG and SCREEN GP Americas, day-to-day production for label printers now becomes significantly easier. The seamless integration of OneVision's automated label printing software solution, ‘DigiLabel’, working effortlessly with SCREEN's Equios Workflow, streamlines production time and helps achieve cost and production savings.

The announcement builds upon previously successful collaborations between the two companies in Europe and Japan. SCREEN and OneVision Software will demonstrate the end-to-end integration live at SCREEN’s Label Expo Americas 2018 exhibit booth #6423 at the Rosemont Convention Center, outside Chicago September 25-27.

The integration of the two software solutions with SCREEN's high speed Truepress Jet L350UV and L350UV+ inkjet label presses ensures smooth production workflows and maximum utilization of the presses’ capabilities. In addition to streamlining the prepress stage, DigiLabel optimizes the entire process from order receipt through artwork preparation for printing, production planning and automated job transmission to printing and stamping presses.

"SCREEN's and OneVision's solutions complement each other perfectly,” said Hussein Khalil, CEO of OneVision. “Label printers will benefit substantially from this collaboration. By combining DigiLabel and Equios workflow, order management and label production are automated. This increases machine utilization so that label printers are now able to work even more efficiently.”

Complementary solutions achieve consistent results with no overlap in software functionality

While the Equios Workflow focuses on ripping PDF files and providing printer queue management, high-end screening, color matching and spot color adjustments, DigiLabel supplies Equios with optimized PDF files including any required register marks, correct bleeds as well as any required white masks and varnish masks. The preparation of the PDF files ahead of the printing process accelerates the entire printing process, guaranteeing a consistently high degree of quality. The continuous supply of correct and optimized printing data further heightens the utilization of the highly productive Truepress Jet L350UV and provides increased throughput.

"Also due to the automated workflows and technical plates that can be generated with relative ease within DigiLabel, there is the opportunity to maximize the multi-pass printing capability of the Trupress Jet L350UV to print spot varnish, opaque white and foiling effects, while minimizing production time and associated consumable costs," said Charlie Brown, Labels & Packaging Solutions Manager, Screen Americas, commenting on the close interaction between those two solutions.
