Heidelberg Printmaster QM 46-2 Helps Start Up ICED Franchises

Press release from the issuing company

The International Center for Entrepreneurial Development (ICED), the parent company of Kwik Kopy Printing, American Wholesale Thermographers, Copy Club, The Ink Well Franklin's, Women's Health Boutique and Parcel Plus, has chosen the Heidelberg Printmaster QM 46-2 as the press for its franchise equipment package. "We feel that the QM 46 is a very versatile press," says Brian Gay, VP of Franchise Services. "The press gives our printers ability to do basic offset jobs and gives our new centers the ability to grow without having to add new equipment right away." The QM 46 is known for being part of Heidelberg's quick print solutions, delivering high quality offset printing in a small format press. It's 13" x 18" size makes it the perfect fit for quick print shops, but it is built with the same quality and precision put into Heidelberg's larger Speedmaster line of printing presses. ICED decided to upgrade the start-up package when it realized that most of its centers needed computer to plate equipment in order to compete. Once ICED committed to a computer to plate front end, installing a different press also proved necessary. "The change was based on talking to our franchise owners to find out what they are faced with," Gay says of the move to update the start-up package. "Once we added the direct to plate system, a duplicator no longer made sense, we had to upgrade to a true press." Gay says ICED hopes to supply start-up kits to 10 or 15 new franchises in the next 12 months.
