Idealliance MailPro® Certification Program Exceeds 1,000 Enrollees in First Year

Press release from the issuing company

In response to outstanding industry support of its mail professional training, Idealliance adds on-site customized courses to augment online instruction.

Alexandria, Va. – Idealliance, the global association for the Visual Communications and Media Industry, is pleased to announce that enrollment in its MailPro® mail professional certification training has surpassed 1,000 in the program’s first year. In response, Idealliance is now adding a customized MailPro blended learning option with onsite instruction by a mailing expert trainer plus access to online course resources.

"Idealliance is about training in the WorkPlace®. Staff expertise is critical to navigate through the complexities of today’s technologies and workflows. This is true with U.S. Postal Service programs, mail preparation, and entry options to provide customers with the most cost-effective mailing options," says Idealliance President and Chief Executive Officer David Steinhardt. "With the Idealliance MailPro training certification program having already surpassed 1,000 students, it has been proven to be a successful course on the foundations of mail and how to work with the U.S. Postal Service!"

"The overwhelmingly positive response of the industry to MailPro in its inaugural year is a clear indication of the value it provides," says Tom Glassman of Wilen Direct and Chair of the Idealliance Postal Education Working Group. "In response to this tremendous interest in MailPro, Idealliance is now offering it both in the original self-paced online version and a new on-site instructor-directed version that can be customized to an individual company’s specific needs and requirements." The customized option includes live training at the customer’s facility over a two-day period. Instruction is geared precisely for the company’s team, industry niche, and specific focus areas and challenges, and is led by an Idealliance-vetted top expert in the mailing industry.

Idealliance has successfully provided the in-person, on-site training in a number of locations. The training brings together the company’s production, sales, and customer service employees to instruct them as a single team so they are all on the same page when it comes to mailing-related issues. Following the in-person training, students have full access to the online version of the course for review and for use as an ongoing resource. The program is a proven team-building process.

"When we conducted the MailPro live training at one of the largest direct mail and commercial printers in the world, attendees rated the experience at a 9.4 out of 10 and the company signed up for a second class for another group," says George Heinrich, Idealliance Training Associate and MailPro Expert. "Although many of the students were mail veterans with years of experience, most were furiously taking notes and asking questions!"

MailPro training is provided through two courses: MailPro Fundamentals and MailPro Advanced:

  • MailPro Fundamentals includes Mail Classes, Processing Categories, Postal Networks, Addressing, Barcodes, Introduction to Mail.Dat® and Mail.XML®, Automation and Non-Automation Mailings, Postage Payment, Reply and Return Services, Special Services, and Resources and Relationships.
  • MailPro Advanced includes Advanced Addressing Software; Mids, Crids, and Stids; Full Service Mail Verification; Mailer Scorecard; Assessments; Understanding Mail.dat; CAPS Accounts; Mail Anywhere; Informed Delivery, and Informed Visibility.

Online course fees for single registrants are $165 for Idealliance members, $215 for non-members. Discounts are available for multiple registrants from the same company. A bundle that includes both Fundamentals and Advanced courses is $225 for members, $295 for non-members. Access to online courses is provided for one full year. Cost of the customized on-site program covers training for up to 25 students.
