Toronto, Ont. – Crawford Technologies, provider of innovative document solutions that streamline, improve and manage customer communications, will be speaking and participating at the PDF Association’s PDF Day on January 29 in Washington, D.C. The PDF Association promotes the adoption and implementation of the International Standards of PDF technology through the sharing of knowledge with developers, decision makers and end users. Expert in accessible PDF technology, Crawford Technologies has been a member of the PDF Association since 2007, shortly after the association’s founding.
Dennis Quon, document accessibility solutions development manager at Crawford Technologies, will present the session “Accessible PDF Usability for the Blind and Partially Sighted” on January 29 at 4:15 p.m. His session provides information about accessible PDF as it serves blind, partially sighted and cognitively impaired individuals. The presentation also covers global regulations, which are particularly relevant due to the Section 508 refresh that went into full effect on January 18, 2018. Additionally, Quon will be exploring the usability and navigation of assistive devices and the devices’ ability to use alternate formats.
Crawford Technologies will showcase the following solutions for PDF output:
- PRO Transform Plus for Accessible PDF automatically converts transactional documents into PDF/UA and WCAG Accessible PDF using rules.
- PRO Designer for Accessibility is a GUI design tool for creating accessibility tagging and formatting rules for PRO Transform Plus for Accessible PDF.
- Auto Tagger for Accessibility automates the creation of Accessible PDF from normal PDF files for ad hoc documents.
- Sunrise provides an automated method for delivering Accessible PDF documents to customers and employees from ECM systems such as IBM® Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD), IBM® FileNet®, OpentText™ Documentum™ and others.
