GMG to Offer Its Breadth of Expertise at the 2018 Color Conference

Hingham, MA USA – At the upcoming 2018 Color Conference, attendees will have many opportunities to learn from—and about—GMG. GMG Americas, the US-based office of GMG (www.gmgcolor.com), headquartered in Tubingen, Germany and the leading developer and supplier of high-end color management software solutions, announces they will be a platinum sponsor, offering two presentations about significant color issues, as well as a presentation and literature table providing an overview of the company’s extensive color management solutions. The Color Conference, hosted by Printing Industries America and SGIA, will be held January 13-16 at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina, San Diego. 

The Color Conference has an 18-year track record providing the latest information to more than 250 color gurus, brand managers, and anyone with color focus. It is the resource for tools and strategies to manage accurate brand color across the entire workflow including multiple devices, multiple processes, and multiple printing sites.

A number of ways to benefit from GMG’s color expertise

GMG will offer three presentations and staff a literature display table at the conference. The sessions include:

  • On Monday, January 15, from 11:10am to 12:10pm, Birgit Plautz, GMG Americas Manager of Technical Services, will be presenting “Expanded gamut separation the right way.” Expanded gamut has many benefits, including the ability to print more in-gamut spot colors, a reduction in the need for spot color plates and ink, and—of course—more colorful graphics. During this session, Birgit Plautz will guide attendees through the necessary steps to convert an RGB file to an extended color gamut, while achieving consistent, accurate color results. Examples will be provided that show files processed through at least two different print production workflows.
  • Early on Monday afternoon at 1:10pm, Eric Dalton, Director of Sales for GMG Americas, will offer a presentation about “Remote proofing: How global brands are doing it right.” It’s vital to communicate, replicate, and deliver accurate color for brands on a global scale. One of the most valuable uses of color management is remote, color-accurate proofing. What does it take to set up this process, and make it happen anywhere in the world? Eric Dalton will co-present this topic along with a GMG customer who will share their experiences setting up multiple proofing locations across three continents—while producing repeatable, consistent contract proofs for brands.
  • On Sunday, at 1:10pm, GMG’s Senior Technical Advisor, Juergen Seitz, will present an overview of GMG’s product line during the Sunday Sponsor Tech Track. Seitz will cover proofing, such as GMG ColorProof and GMG FlexoProof; solutions for agencies, including GMG ColorProof proofing, GMG CoZone content approval, and GMG ColorMaster RGB workflow; packaging color management such as GMG FlexoProof and GMG ColorProof proofing, accurate simulation of the overprinting effects of spot colors with GMG OpenColor; and wide format/commercial print production, with GMG ColorServer automated color management workflows, the easy-to-use GMG SmartProfile calibration, recalibration and profiling software, and GMG InkOptimizer to save ink and assure stable, optimized print runs.
