Within 12 and a half hours, 108 print jobs were finished! One month later, 198,500 sheets were printed over the same production time!

These are the amazing new production records that Daehan Printech has achieved since its new four-color ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION, equipped with a simultaneous plate loading (SPL) system, was put into production in its facility in Seoul recently.

Founded in 1995, Daehan Printech is a thriving commercial printer in South Korea. It produces printing publications and high-end catalogues, brochures, calendars and recipe books for a number of international brands, such as Samsung and LG.

Among many attractive features of the ROLAND 704 Evolution, the SPL plays a very important role in improving the production efficiency of a company.

With the help of SPL, the printing plates in all printing units can be changed at the same time. The blanket and impression cylinder can also be washed simultaneously with the plate change. Up to seven minutes can be saved per job change according to press configuration. In other words, if the company needs 108 job changes a day, it will save up to 756 minutes -- or the equivalent of 12.6 hours -- per day!

In order to come up with impressive products for its customers despite a tight deadline, Daehan has been investing in high-end technology. Since 1999, it has been using Manroland printing machines. At present, Daehan has other ROLAND presses, including the new ROLAND 704 Evolution, running smoothly in its plant.

According to Mr. Sunkwan Hwang, the company’s chairman, as the run length of jobs is getting much shorter in publications and commercial printing jobs, the short make-ready time and fast printing speed of the machine are becoming more valuable to the company. “In the case of ROLAND 700 Evolution, the make-ready time is very short. Therefore, it is more productive than other machines,” says Mr. Hwang. “This is also very helpful in boosting productivity because the process of job changing is very fast. In addition to this, we can work faster than others by shortening operation moving line with good positioning of the operational panel.”

Apart from the SPL, Mr Hwang says, the ROLAND 700 Evolution “has many features. We want to be able to make more advanced results with these many features, and we believe we can.”
