PIA Reimagines the Best Workplace in the Americas Recognition Program

Press release from the issuing company

Pittsburgh, PA - Printing Industries of America announced today the newly reimagined Best Workplace in the Americas (BWA) recognition program. In 2017, PIA has chosen to break new ground with a redevelopment of the BWA logo, application process, timeline, and award presentation. Along with the new format, an additional Safety Shield designation is also available for those companies who exhibit excellence in environmental, health, and safety areas.

The BWA entries will open Tuesday, September 5, 2017. The entry form will be available on August 7, for review and planning. Last day for entries will be Friday, November 17, 2017. An anonymous panel of human relations professionals from the industry will review applications and make their selections in early December with honorees notified in January 2018. New this year, the Best Workplaces in the America awards will be presented during a luncheon at the 2018 President’s Conference March 4-6 in San Antonio, Texas.

A series of videos describing the new application process will be launched in August 2017. “The BWA Award is the printing industry’s highest recognition for companies that go the extra mile to provide the very best work environment,” said Adriane Harrison, Director of Human Relations at Printing Industries of America. “BWA winners are committed to engaging the workforce, providing a positive and safe work environment, and recognizing employees are a company’s greatest asset.”

Best Workplace in the Americas began in 2000 as a method for companies to assess their human relations offerings and employee culture. For the past ten years, BWA has been evaluating and rewarding printing companies for achievements in eight key human relations areas:

  1. Communication & Culture
  2. Employee Resources & Benefits
  3. Safety & Work Environment
