Athens Reinvents Paper School for Today’s Paper Specifiers

Press release from the issuing company

Athens Paper is pleased to announce the introduction of Athens Paper School, a new educational offering for printing sales representatives, estimators, customer service representatives, graphic designers and marketers. The program provides today’s paper specifiers with the information they need to make informed decisions about paper choices while taking into consideration budgets, end use, the audience and environmental factors.

Paper School is available in group training and one-on-one training for individual clients, in either 60 or 90-minute sessions. In order to make this educational offering available, Athens has partnered with seven well-known paper manufacturers as sponsors and contributors. They include: Appleton Coated, Appvion, CTI, French, IP, Monadnock and WestRock.

Kelley McLaughlin, Athens Specification Manager said, “Over the years, I have taught many paper schools. It’s always been a great experience for me because I get to meet people and share my passion for paper. I also serve on the Athens marketing committee. Last year, we decided to reinvent paper school to provide today’s paper specifiers with the information they need to make the best choice for their project. After much discussion, we have developed a modern approach to the paper school concept, and are excited to bring this to our market.”

Paper School includes both a presentation and resource materials.  It covers a wide range of information in an engaging and easy-to-understand way. It also introduces participants to the Athens A-B-C Method™.  This provides paper specifiers with a simple and intuitive framework for matching paper selections to project goals.
