Danka Earns ISO 9001 Certification For U.S. Customer Support Centers

Press release from the issuing company

Customers Benefit From New Standard of Service NEW YORK CITY, April 26, 2002 -- Danka Business Systems PLC (NASDAQ: DANKY) today announced that its outstanding customer support has been recognized with ISO 9001 certification for its U.S. Technical Services Customer Support Centers in Rochester, N.Y., and Windsor, Colo. Danka is one of the first solutions providers in the office imaging industry to achieve ISO certification for its Customer Support Centers. "We are setting a new standard for service, which is a tremendous advantage for our customers. Achieving ISO certification is a rigorous process and regular on-site visits by ISO auditors verify that we are maintaining the stringent standards used to achieve the initial certification," said Mike Hawkins, president of Danka’s U.S. Technical Services. ISO 9001 is a series of documented standards that identify what a company must do to consistently provide a product or service that meets customer requirements and enhances customer satisfaction. Danka achieved additional distinction by earning ISO certification with its first application. "This validates that we have been on the leading edge of customer service and support for many years," Hawkins said. The ISO standards are a valuable achievement, and a requirement for working with some multi-national companies, he noted. "Many multi-national companies prefer to deal with ISO-certified suppliers because they feel this certification indicates a focus on quality and a commitment to better business practices. Earning this certification benefits both Danka and our customers."
