Chakraval Photo Digital Co Invests in Taopix software

Press release from the issuing company

Currently, the B2C company specialises in the sale and manufacture of photo prints and photobooks and is looking to use the Taopix platform to expand its range of photo products to encompass wall art, calendars and a wide selection of web-to-print type products.

The 30 year old family-owned business employs 250 staff, has its headquarters and main production site in Chatuchak, Bangkok and operates a chain of 26 retail outlets in and around the Bangkok region. Each retail location has installed either Fuji, Noritsu or Durst photo equipment to offer a local manufacturing service for photo prints. The company has also installed a FujiXerox digital press at its Chatuchak HQ to handle all digital work.

Chakraval customers currently have two methods of submitting jobs; via email or a ‘walk-in’ service offered throughout its 26 stores. Customers can also collect their printed photo merchandise from their preferred location. The Taopix platform will now be used to give customers a more flexible and convenient way to order photo products and the Taopix Online Designer and e-commerce platform will allow customers to order from the comfort of their homes as well as choosing from a range of delivery options.

Chakraval General Manager, Jackraphan Khositchootrakool, is impressed with the amount of products he can sell through the Taopix platform: “When we first looked at Taopix, I was contemplating offering only photo books, prints, calendars and wall art to consumers, but after the in-depth training course, I realised that we could use the Taopix platform to sell everything we wanted to including business cards and other products that aren’t necessarily photo-centric.”

Khositchootrakool continued: “I’m amazed at the flexibility of the Taopix in-built e-commerce functions and we believe that we can take a ‘one platform’ approach for all of our products - that way we won’t have to manage any other systems and all of our production will be streamlined.”

Taopix Development Manager for Asia, Les Bovenlander added: “We’re all excited about the huge potential for photo merchandise in Thailand. The team at Chakraval has some great ideas for new markets and products, especially for smartphone users, and I’m sure they’ll make a great success of this new venture.”
