Schumann Printers, Inc. in Fall River, WI has selected SITMA to provide the company with a leading-edge automatic film wrapping system (model 1050). Schumann Printers, Inc. is a family owned heat-set web printer producing short, medium, and long run publications and catalogues for over fifty years. From file transfer to finishing, the company exemplifies its position as the most sophisticated plant in the publication printing industry.
SITMA is the world leader in printed media, packaging and distribution systems with over 8,000 systems installed world-wide. People Moving Ideas is SITMA’s motto and that is how Sitma’s model 1050 comes to boast the most innovative film (and paper) wrapping technology available and why it is the benchmark for high speed applications in a production environment.
The fully electronic system, capable of processing up to 21,000 packages per hour, represents an intelligent solution for the most challenging of applications. The wrapper design allows for electronic control of product length and height, allowing for products of variable sizes to be processed simultaneously. A unique film unwinding system allows for efficient film tracking control and automatic film reel splicing.
Schumann Printers, Inc. and SITMA have each been in business for fifty years and the companies share a dedication to helping to grow customer’s business by bringing an array of services and fresh ideas to fulfill their growing needs and by offering new and innovative technologies to increase productivity and overall quality. Mark Schumann, the company’s Vice President explained why they selected SITMA: “We decided on SITMA based on the equipment’s durability and ease of use as well as for the company’s reputation”. The new 1050 system is being installed at the company’s Wisconsin facility and will be ready for production in the Fall of 2016. SITMA’s collaborative business partner, Muller Martini, was instrumental in advising Schumann Printers, Inc. about SITMA’s many capabilities which helped the parties come to an agreement.
