MarcomCentral Demonstrates Innovation in Technology with the Issuance of Two New Patents

Press release from the issuing company

Solana Beach, CA – MarcomCentral®, a leading provider of cloud-based Marketing Asset Management and Variable Data Publishing solutions, announced today the recent issuance of two patents by the US Patent Office in the areas of job submission and variable data printing (VDP).  The new patents add to a growing list of patents granted to MarcomCentral, with five issued in the past 16 months, demonstrating MarcomCentral’s innovation in the field of print and marketing technology.

“For the past several years we’ve worked diligently to ensure the technology and services we provide are both practical and at the forefront of our industry,” said Douglas Cogan, Vice President of VDP Technology for MarcomCentral and the primary inventor behind the patented technologies. “These most recently issued patents show our continued focus on identifying consumer pain points and pioneering technology that meets those challenges.”

The patent for invention 9,330,349 covers VDP technology that optimizes fonts on a browser for faster web previews. The technology allows online previews of VDP designs to be generated at higher speeds, increasing the overall user experience when personalizing or customizing web-based documents on-the-fly.

The patent for invention 9,372,649 is for submitting print jobs to secure locations over the web. The technology allows for secure transmission of files to locations with a firewall, ensuring predetermined network security rules are met for the exchange of data. The technology alleviates concern for both print service providers and corporations using a web-to-print system that jobs will be submitted securely over the web and sensitive data is protected.

“As a provider of SaaS web-based services, it’s crucial our technology offers real-world solutions and mitigates any security concerns,” said Coleman Kane, President and CEO of MarcomCentral. “We plan to add to our patents as we focus resources on developing the most advanced technologies in our space.”

Sweet!

"...allows for secure transmission of files to locations with a firewall, ensuring predetermined network security rules are met for the exchange of data."

This ability can break down a critical roadblock to the effective use of Print within large and highly secure organizations.

As a longtime fan of MarcomCentral, I am looking forward to learning more!
