TPSi Tulsa’s HP Indigo 7900 Digital Press Eats Variable Data Content for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Press release from the issuing company

At Graph Expo 2016, Fadel Iskander, Ph.D., vice president, TPSi Tulsa shared how the company’s HP Indigo 7900 and 7600 Digital Presses enable production of complex applications that provide its clients powerful return on investment.

For example, leveraging its new HP Indigo 7900, TPSi produced a variable data-driven postcard that secured its restaurant chain client a nearly 25 percent response rate. The client wanted to drive traffic to one of its restaurants in an off-the-beaten-path location. Working with the restaurant group, TPSi helped define the restaurant’s target demographic and produced and mailed 2,500 postcards with individualized maps showing prospects how to get to the restaurant from their homes. Within weeks of distributing the individualized post cards, more than 600 patrons visited the restaurant and presented the $10 coupon on the postcard. The company has produced similar personalized postcards for microbreweries and other restaurants with comparable response rates.

TPSi does not shy away from complex jobs, and the company credits its success to the proven quality and reliability of HP Indigo digital printing technology. With the HP Indigo 7900 Digital Press, TPSi produces a wide range of applications with fast speeds and impeccable quality, including  postcards, direct mail, brochures, newsletters and other general commercial printing applications with raised ink, white ink, clear ink and textured effects in addition to variable data. The new HP Indigo 7900 has also expanded the substrate range available to the company, allowing them to produce jobs on new substrates in house that they would have previously had to turn away.

“Our customers have grown to rely on our flawless print quality, fast turnarounds and expertise with variable data for high-value pieces that deliver increased ROI,” said Fadel Iskander, Ph.D., vice president, TPSi Tulsa. “Our success hinges on excellent customer service as well as robust, productive best-in-class HP Indigo digital printing technology that allows us to maximize print time, continually enhance our offering and improve margins.”

The company currently runs more than 80 percent of its jobs in enhanced productivity mode (EPM). Running jobs in EPM gives TPSi a 33 percent productivity boost by eliminating black ink from the production process, which enables the company to provide clients a lower cost per piece while maintaining excellent print quality. In a typical job, TPSi runs more than 15,000 color sheets in five hours in EPM on its HP Indigo 7900 Digital Press. Media fingerprinting with HP PrintOS further enhances the company’s productivity, allowing color profiles to be replicated flawlessly without manual color manipulations, and Print Beat enables the team to closely monitor and optimize production.

TPSi, which has tripled the number of jobs it runs today compared to when it installed its first HP Indigo digital press in 2006, plans to upgrade its HP Indigo 7600 Digital Press to the capabilities of the HP Indigo 7900 Digital Press. Having two HP Indigo 7900 Digital Presses will allow the company to run parallel workflows and meet a growing range of high-impact, high-quality applications and further grow its business.
