Pitman Expands Range with Introduction of Office & Industrial Products

Press release from the issuing company

TOTOWA, NJ, June 17, 2002 -- Pitman Company, the leading independent North American graphic arts supplier, has announced the expansion of its product offerings to include a major new line of office/industrial products that comprises over 27,000 different items. With the launch of the new line, Pitman now provides its customers with the largest catalog offering of such products in the printing industry through an alliance with a leading national wholesale distributor of office products and industrial supplies. Pitman is making available a comprehensive office supplies catalog containing all 27,000 products, as well as a separate catalog of 3,300 high-demand items that displays the lowest discounted prices, eliminating the need for time-consuming price callbacks. The entire new product portfolio also is available online 24/7 from Pitman's PrintNation Division (www.printnation.com), the world's largest online printing and equipment supplies store. Now Pitman customers who have been using PrintNation to order printing supplies and equipment can use the website to order office products and industrial supplies as well. The PrintNation website may also be used by non-customers to make credit card purchases. In addition, Pitman also offers access to its unique CPA (Customer Purchase Analysis) program that enables customers to turn purchase information into planning insight. Available exclusively from Pitman, CPA allows customers to process their purchase data for display in tables and graphs that provide decision-making input to develop optimal purchasing strategies. By adding specific general ledger account codes, customers can also import the data into any accounting solution, eliminating data re-entry. Steve Raboin, Chief Operating Officer of Pitman Company, noted, "By expanding Pitman's business model to include office products and industrial supplies, we have advanced to an important new milestone in the company's strategy to provide our customers a wider gamut of product and service options that is unparalleled in the industry." Barry Budwit, Director of New Business Development for Pitman, observed, "Our product catalog, PrintNation and CPA make it extremely easy to do business with Pitman, and customers can realize the benefits of single-source purchasing from a business partner they know and trust. No other supplier offers such powerful business tools to help customers manage their business transactions."
