Press release from the issuing company

Frank Romano to headline presentations at Grand Opening of WD Manley Technology Center

MARIETTA, GEORGIAGraphic Systems North America (GSNA), the Authorized Distributor for RMGT (RYOBI MHI Graphic Technology Ltd.) sheetfed offset presses in North America, announces that Graphco will be hosting an Open House on August 30-31, 2016, at their new demonstration center in Solon, Ohio. The fully automated RMGT 9 Series 8-up press will be the platform for live demonstrations of LED-UV Curing Technology along with, industry leading, SMART RPC (Simultaneous Plate Changing) Technology.

Graphco will celebrate 40 years of serving the printing industry with the formal opening of the WD Manley Technology Center. The event will feature a complete program of live equipment demonstrations, highlighted by presentations from industry experts, including Professor Emeritus Frank Romano. The first day's events will be capped by a personalized tour of the universe at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History's planetarium.

“Our new technology center should appeal to all segments of today's print industry,” states Chris Manley, President, Graphco, Midwest Distributor for RMGT. “Our new demo center will present solutions to challenges faced by printers of all sizes. Our equipment demonstrations will present real world applications for today's print needs. Hearing Frank Romano's take on the future of print will be illuminating for all our guests.”

In addition to a live presentation by Frank Romano, Rochester Institute of Technology's latest print industry publication, The New Print Industry, will be produced live during the event. Emphasizing the versatility of Graphco provided equipment, book blocks will be printed on an MGI DP8700XL+, the cover will be produced on the RMGT 9, and the Horizon BQ270C and the HT-30C will complete the perfect binding of the publication. A special "lay flat" version will be produced using the Sterling DigiPunch and CoilMaster equipment as well.

Advantages of LED-UV Curing Technology
In 2008, RMGT became the world's first manufacturer of sheet-fed offset presses to introduce LED-UV technology that incorporates an LED light source for quick drying. It has a 15 times longer life span, consumes 70 to 80% less electricity, and generates much less heat than a conventional lamp system, making it very attractive for its energy efficiency and greatly reduced environmental impact.

UV printing allows printed sheets to be quick-cured by UV light immediately after printing, offering advantages including a shorter lead time, powder-less printing, and printing on special media. RMGT was the first sheet-fed offset press manufacturer to commercially develop a next-generation, energy-saving, environmental-friendly LED-UV printing system. Winning high praise among RMGT customers, the system continues to evolve. New versions of the LED-UV printing system have been added to the lineup to enable varnish coating, greatly expanding the range of value-added printing and providing powerful support for customers.
