Swanline Milestone Marked by New Appointments

Press release from the issuing company

Specialist printed packaging supplier Swanline Print Ltd is celebrating 15 years in business and has boosted its workforce to meet the growing demand for the company’s confidential print and conversion services.

As part of an ongoing investment strategy, Dan Gallego has been appointed Account Manager to the trade-only firm’s team. He has a wealth of experience in the paper and print industry, more recently at Fosco Hayes, who specialise in digitally printed POS products, which will be invaluable to Swanline as the company diversifies more into these markets.

Also joining Swanline are Sales Administrator Gemma Donegan with a background in digital and screen printing, having previously worked in a similar role for CS Labels, Rikki Price who takes on the role of Operations Manager after 10 years at the SP Group, while Darren Wright is named as the new Operations and Logistics Manager for Swanline Paper & Board (SPB).

Completing the flurry of new intakes is Andy Farron as Sales Manager at SPB. His role will be predominantly but not exclusively helping to grow Swanline’s paper and single face offering to the trade. He has a wealth of knowledge, experience and contacts that he will bring with him.

Strengthening its workforce comes at a significant time as Swanline, established in 2001, commemorates a significant milestone in the life of the company and a remarkable history of embracing cutting-edge technology which has helped it evolve into a major force in print and packaging. The Kirby name has been synonymous with packaging for over 150 years, with packing box manufacturer T Kirby & Sons originally founded in Walsall in 1863.

Leading the way in the development of sheet plant technology, Kirby’s Engineers, Walsall, applied for patents for the rotary die-cutting machine in 1961 as the company expanded its services in response to the changing markets of the 20th Century. A determination to remain at the forefront of the industry also resulted in its re-branding as Kirby Cartons in 1974 under the stewardship of Colin and Hilary Kirby.

Now based at a state-of-the-art facility in Stone, a recent management restructuring process continues the strong family connection as Nicky Kirby is Chief Executive Officer of the newly-formed umbrella organisation Swanline Print Group. Other Kirbys involved in the business include Simon (Technical Director), Laura (Artworker) and Brogan (Sales Administrator).
