Santa Ana, CA - Duplo USA Corporation announced today that it has launched the new DC-446 Creaser, a fully automated solution that creases up to 60 sheets per minute and prevents toner cracking and unattractive fold lines on digitally printed documents. 

“Several improvements were made on the DC-446 while maintaining the basic design and usability of its DC-445 predecessor,” commented Kevin Chen, product manager, Duplo USA. 

“The DC-446 features approximately a 20% increase in speed and now handles a maximum paper width of 330.5mm, a bit over 13 inches, to accommodate the common 13” x 19” sheet size,” he said. “The maximum creasing capability has also been increased from 15 to 20 creases in a single pass, making it possible to run a wider variety of jobs. Plus, the DC-446 has changed from a 4-belt to an 8-belt air suction feed system with changeable air blower area for consistent feeding of difficult stocks and weights.”

For a more versatile solution, the Integrated Folding System – an in-line knife folder - can be added to the unit. With the in-line knife folder, customers can crease and fold applications in one process while eliminating the time and waste required in setting up a separate folding device. 

A number of other options are also available on the DC-446 to suit the demands of digital printers. An air knife provides additional air to reduce static problems while a double feed detector sensor stops the machine when two or more sheets are fed, preventing miss-feeds and paper jams. Slitting and perforating tools can also be added to eliminate white borders and/or create perforated pieces.
