The Burke Group Signs Letter of Intent for Komori Impremia NS40

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL - Komori America Corporation and Komcan Inc. today announced The Burke Group, a full-service commercial printer offering a full spectrum of marketing services in Edmonton, Alberta, is the first print provider in Canada to sign a letter of intent to purchase the Komori Impremia NS40. The Komori Impremia NS40, making its official debut at drupa 2016, is a groundbreaking digital printing system that combines the versatility of digital with the quality and speed of offset printing at an unmatched cost per page.

“We are excited and privileged to be the first company in Canada to integrate the technology of the Komori Impremia NS40 press. The combination of Komori reliability and Landa technology is a game changer. Our trust in the support provided by Komcan and Komori make them the perfect partners for us as we offer this new technology,” said Ian Burke, chairman of The Burke Group.

The Landa Nanography™ technology featured in the Impremia NS40 is built on a Komori platform and uses independently developed water-based inks that bond instantaneously to the substrate while printing at speeds of up to 6,500 sheets per hour. These proprietary inks and the innovative nanographic printing process result in printed sheets that are abrasion resistant, require no post-drying and leave no residual ink on the blanket. These features make it possible for the Impremia NS40 to produce offset-quality work with brilliant color coupled with aggressive turnaround times.

“The Burke Group was one of the first print businesses in Canada to purchase a Komori GL series press and the company is a perfect fit to now have the first Komori Impremia NS40 in Canada,” says Steve Ranson, president of Komcan Inc. “The Burke Group has always been on the forefront of technology, both offset and digital, and have the personnel and expertise to run with this new technology.”

“As a leader in the print industry with over 100 years of experience, The Burke Group has consistently adopted new technology to evolve and grow, and we’re thrilled to continue our partnership,” said Jacki Hudmon, senior vice president, business development for Komori America. “The Impremia NS40 will further support this company’s deep commitment to its customers to provide the most innovative solutions in print.”
