Sharp's New Laser Fax Includes Duplex Scanning

Press release from the issuing company

MAHWAH, N.J., Sharp Document & Network Systems of America (SDNA) today expands its high-volume fax machine line with the introduction of the FO-6700 laser facsimile. Combining standard duplex scanning, Super G3 communication and a 1,250-sheet paper capacity, the FO-6700 serves as an ideal replacement for customers looking to upgrade from a slower plain-paper machine to a high-speed laser facsimile. The FO-6700 features duplex scanning, enabling users to send dual-sided documents directly from the fax machine. It also features a two seconds per page scan speed, a 33.6 Kbps modem and JBIG compression to help increase office productivity and reduce the amount of time users spend at the fax machine. Additionally, the FO-6700 can store up to 30 personal auto-dial phone books, which allows users to register one-touch and speed dial numbers for their own personal use. The FO-6700 features a standard 1,250-sheet paper capacity. Up to 1,000 sheets of 8.5" x 11" can be maintained in two 500-sheet trays and up to 250 sheets of either 8.5" x 11" or 8.5" x 14" can be maintained in a 250-sheet adjustable tray. The unit automatically handles different paper sizes during reception. A standard fax separator feature inserts colored sheets between incoming faxes, increasing the ease of distribution. The FO-6700 comes standard with 4 MB of memory (expandable to 16 MB), allowing it to line up numerous calls for transmission. Senders can store multiple pages even as receptions occur without worrying about overloading the memory. In addition, an optional dual-line kit is available to further enhance productivity by allowing the FO-6700 to use a second Super G3 modem for simultaneous transmission and reception over two phone lines.
